Hello efueyo,

there is no wifi device listed in the inxi output. It tin be seen on the HP website, that your model series can take dissimilar wifi cards (Atheros, Broadcom, Ralink or Realtek). An Atheros wifi card would piece of work "out of the box", so you have i of the other 3. Outset have a look in the driver managing director in the menu, if there is offered a driver for wifi (perchance bcmwl). If you can't find anything in there, please show the output of the following control:

The driver manager returns the message: "The drivers cannot exist installed. Connect to the Internet or insert the installation DVD or USB stick
I execute : lspci -nnk | grep -i internet A3

Then I execute : enri@enri-Presario-CQ57-Notebook-PC:~$ lspci -nnk | grep -iA3 net; rfkill list

Information technology returned :

Hello efueyo,

thanks for your informations. You have an RTL8723BE wifi card and the right driver is installed and in use. At that place is no hard or soft block. I judge it worked before, so I call up, the problem is probably caused by the five.three.0-40 kernel. Please reboot and take advanced options in the chow menu and choose the previous kernel ( one of the five.0 kernel) for the offset.

Since installing Linuxmint 19, the COMPAC CQ57-Notebook-PC computer does non connect to WIFI

Did information technology never worked with LM 19.3, not once subsequently the driver installation? Or do you lot meet networks but can't become connected?

You lot can try it offset with the 5.iii.0-32. If it doesn't work with this, install the recent iv.xv kernel via the update director > view > linux kernels and choose that 1 in the grub menu.

Following your suggestion, I selected "Linux Mint 19.iii Cinnamon with Linux v.3.0-32generic" and the computer started, accessing all the networks in the surroundings. Activate the personal network and I am already connected to the Cyberspace. Thank you

Hello efueyo,

that'southward a proficient news :) But delight be aware of the follwoing:

Open the update managing director and remove the 5.30-40 kernel, otherwise you will take again no cyberspace afterwards the next system offset. If this kernel is offered to you lot over again in the update director, right-click on information technology and choose the kickoff option to ignore this update.

Once more I am lost. Surely I have made a mistake with the updates and now I am once more unable to connect to Cyberspace with the Wifi. The post-obit kermels now appear in Update Manager: 5.3.0-42, 40, 28, 26, 24, 23, 22, and nineteen. Kermel v.3.0-32 has stopped appearing, so I can't install to select it during startup.
I have performed the post-obit actions.
a) .- Install the kermel 4.fifteen.0-91. No wifi.
b) .- Select 5.3.0-28 generic in the grub. No wifi.
I would capeesh help to solve this problem. Thank you.

If I install version nineteen.two, will I fix this problem?
